Disney has pushed back the release of Indiana Jones 5 by a full year, to July 9, 2021, reports The Hollywood Reporter. The movie, which has been widely expected, was supposed to come out July 10, 2020, but production has been delayed due to script issues. Steven Spielberg is directing the fifth installment of the beloved adventure series, which will again star Harrison Ford, who will be just days away from turning 79 when the film hits theaters.
Disney also announced other changes to its calendar, including that Jungle Cruise, starring Dwayne Johnson, will premiere Oct. 11, 2019, and Angelina Jolie’s Maleficent 2 will hit theaters May 29, 2020. Mary Poppins Returns has also been moved up a week from Dec. 25 to Dec. 19, which is going to pose even more competition for several movies opening Dec. 21, including Bumblebee and Aquaman.
Disney Animation Studios is also tweaking the title of its next film from Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 to Ralph Breaks the Internet. The release date remains the same at Nov. 21, 2018.
And finally, Marvel fans should be excited, because Disney is moving up the release of an untitled Marvel movie from July 30, 2021, to Feb. 12, 2021.Read the full story at The Hollywood Reporter
