Danny Boyle, producer and director of Trust, who is working on the next James Bond movie, confirmed that he is looking at the “modern world” when it comes to the portrayal of women. Boyle told Page Six, “You write in real time,” when asked how the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements will affect the way he depicts Bond Girls, who have previously had innuendo-laden names and were scantily clad. “You acknowledge the legacy of the world [of Bond] and you write in the world — but you also write in the modern world as well,” Boyle said. He did not give any specifics of his female Bond characters. Though it does not appear we are near a female Bond, the current project — called “Bond 25” — is said to be Daniel Craig’s final 007 role. The search is on for the next male star to lead the franchise. Boyle said they hope to start shooting the film in six or seven weeks, so that the movie would come out at the end of the year, but it is still unclear.
