Ultimate Fighting Championship fighter Conor McGregor is under investigation in Ireland after a woman claims the the fighter, one of the world’s highest paid athletes, sexually assaulted her in December of 2018.

Although the mixed martial artist was arrested in January and questioned, he was released as the investigation continues. No physical evidence to confirm the claims has been found.

The alleged victim claims the assault occurred at the Beacon Hotel, where McGregor is a frequent quest, often renting the hotel’s only penthouse room. His last visit was in December, the same month the alleged assault took place.

Irish police wouldn’t confirm the the identity of the accuser or alleged perpetrator, The New York Times reports, as the names are not provided until the individual is convicted of the crime. Newspapers who publish the name could break the law and could face heavy fines.

Early this morning McGregor announced that he was retiring from MMA, though he made no mention of the investigation, the champion martial artist says he’s ready to retire and buy a round of pina coladas for his fellow former fighters.
