PBR’s brewer, Pabst Brewing Company is taking MillerCoors to court over claims that the latter is trying to put the former out of business.

Hipster-favorite PBR’s future is in jeopardy, according to the beer brand that claims MillerCoors wants to pull out of its long-standing partnership through which it brews Pabst’s beers, Time reported.

Pabst’s lawyers claim that the company’s very livelihood relied on the deal since MillerCoors produces, packages and ships nearly all its products. But for MC, Pabst isn’t paying enough for the hops to keep on flowing out of its Chicago brewery.

Furthermore, Pabst claims in “stunning documents” it’s obtained, that MC hired a consultant to help them get into the cheaper market dominated by Pabst and to “figure out ways to get rid of us.”

“It really is an existential issue for Pabst because it has no real alternatives,” Pabst attorney Adam Paris said.
