“Breaking Bad” Movie in the Works from Show’s Creator

It’s yet to be determined if the film will air on TV or in movie theaters.

A Breaking Bad movie is currently being develooped by the hit show’s original creator, Vince Gilligan.

The feature will be a two-hour movie — either for big screens or TV — according to The Hollywood Reporter. Rumors have circulated that it could be called Greenbrier. Details about the movie’s main subject and precise timing are sketchy, at best, too. It’s unclear if it will take place pre-Breaking Bad, like its AMC spinoff, Better Call Saul, or after the series’ climactic end.

Details are, of course, also slim on whether the cult-followed show’s original cast members, like Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, will sign on. But Gilligan is expected to write the script, direct, and executive produce the movie.

Some have speculated that the movie will follow the storyline of a kidnapped man and his journey to freedom, THR reported. Production is expected to begin later this month in New Mexico.
