Black Panther is headed for the top February opening weekend of all time, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The already-beloved Marvel movie is on pace to make $205-210 million at the North American box office over the weekend, far outpacing the $152.2 million record set by Deadpool in 2016. Black Panther’s opening Friday alone raked in $75.8 million, which ranks as the eighth-highest grossing day in box office history. African-Americans made up 37 percent of Friday ticket-buyers, and caucasians 36 percent. For comparison, African-Americans on average represent 15 percent of a superhero tentpole’s ticket-buyers.
