Anthony Scaramucci and Michael Avenatti Talk Politics Over Rosé

Stephen Colbert hosted the duo on his late-night show.

In May, The New York Times reported that Anthony Scaramucci, who was President Trump’s communication director for 11 days, and Michael Avenatti, the lawyer representing Stormy Daniels, were trying to create a show similar to Crossfire. The two gave the show a trial run when they met up on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, to drink rosé and talk politics. Seriously. Colbert starts off by asking, “What? What is this?”

Colbert then asked about reports that Michael Cohen, Trump’s lawyer, might flip. Avenatti was firm in his belief he will.

“There’s no question in my mind,” Avenatti said. “I think that Michael Cohen is in a very, very bad spot, and I think that the president is in a very, very bad spot because this is what happens when you trust your innermost secrets to a moron.”

Scaramucci followed by saying it was more complicated and depends on the indictment.

Avenatti then asks if they were going to “whine or talk” so Colbert ordered a bottle of rosé and three glasses.
