After NBC News Exit, Can Megyn Kelly Find Another Major TV Gig?

Experts tell Hollywood Reporter that she is too good not to return somewhere before 2020 campaign.

As Megyn Kelly is on the verge of exiting NBC News before the end of her three year deal signed in January 2017, it is unlikely she will command anywhere close to $23 million annually from her next employer.

Part of that is the residual damage to the Fox News alum’s image after her questionable comments on the use of blackface by white people during Halloween. But it also has to do with the ratings failure of first her primetime NBC show, Sunday Night With Megyn Kelly, and then her hour on the Today show.

“I don’t think a mainstream network is going to go anywhere near her right now,” crisis PR expert Eden Gillott Bowe told The Hollywood Reporter. “Because then it looks like they are endorsing her [statements].”

She would be a better fit on a cable news network, experts told the industry trade, where she could recommit herself as a take-no-prisoners interviewer who specializes in politics.
