AFI Honors ‘Wonder Woman’ Among the Year’s Best Movies

The American Film Institute named its 10 best movies and TV shows of the year.

The American Film Institute has included Wonder Woman in its top 10 movies of the year. This year’s edition of the annual canonizing ranged from widely-beloved Oscar contenders like Get Out and Lady Bird to summer crowd-pleasers like Wonder Woman and The Big Sick. On its TV list, AFI chose heavy hitters Game of Thrones and Stranger Things 2 in addition to Emmy winners Big Little Lies and The Handmaid’s Tale. This year’s jury featured Judd Apatow, Halle Berry, Jamie Lee Curtis, and a variety of critics. AFI also gave Ken Burns and Lynn Novick’s multi-part documentary The Vietnam War a special award.
