ABC cancelled Roseanne after a racist tweet from Roseanne Barr, but the network has decided to move forward with the spinoff without her. The show, tentatively called The Conners, will include the original cast, creators and likely crewFollowing talks with executive producer Tom Werner, the Disney-owned broadcaster has handed out a 10-episode, straight-to-series order for The Conners. It will also be a mutli-camera comedy and premiere in the fall, and it will follow the Conner family as they face the daily struggles of life in Lanford after a sudden turn of events. Barr will have no financial or creative involvement in the new series. Werner and Barr reached an agreement that will allow Werner Entertainment to produce the spinoff for ABC without Barr’s further creative or financial participation.
