Here’s some trivia for you: What is Nikolaus Otto famous for?

We’ll accept two answers. First, he is considered the father of the internal combustion engine, having paved the way for modern automobiles (maybe you’ve heard of the Otto engine?). Second, he is the namesake of the new Otto Car Club, which recently opened in Scottsdale, Arizona. You’d do well to remember that factoid should you apply.

You see, Otto is a new breed of members-only car club. It’s not track-based like Lime Rock Drivers Club or fleet-based like Classic Car Club. Instead, the focus is on managing your current car collection, and for that they’ve built a veritable mecca: 47,000 square feet of facilities that include climate-controlled storage (both general and private-access) as well as impeccable member facilities like a lounge, conference room, dining room and full bar.

But beyond the physical facilities, co-founder Eli Kogan told Modern Luxury, “No job is too big or too small for us to coordinate.” That means Otto is equipped to handle all your automotive needs, from a simple oil change to cross-country transport to planning a trip to the track. And because it’s a social club too, with a full calendar of experiences, you’ll be sure to meet some new lead-footed chums to invite along.

While the club officially opened back in November (with some bombshells dropping in for the festivities, by which we mean Singer’s carbon-fiber 911, pictured above), you can still apply for membership. There are two tiers: a Social membership gives you access to the facility and events for $5K per year, while an Executive membership adds on storage and collection-management benefits for $8.5K per year (though different storage areas incur additional fees), as Acquire writes.

And for all of you wondering why, exactly, Kogan opened up shop in Scottsdale, we suggest you read up on the upcoming Arizona Auction Week.
