Swedish inventor Mikael Kjellman enjoyed riding his bike but ran into issues—just like everybody else—in the winter months. (Bicyclists all but disappear from the streets of New York City after a major ice- or snowstorm.) So Kjellman set out to design a bike-lover’s alternative.
What he came up with he’s calling the PodRide, a six-foot-long bike-car hybrid. It’s pedaled like a bicycle but has four 20-inch tires on the outside, which deal with tough surfaces. It also has an exterior made of fabric to keep its driver warm (and most importantly, dry) during cold-weather months. And there’s even room in the back for groceries or a small bag.
The project has been fully funded on Indiegogo, so now’s your chance to order one. For more information on the PodRide, check out Kjellman’s page here. Watch his demo video below.
