Bestselling author Ta-Nehisi Coates shared an update on his much-anticipated new book.

Coates revealed the cover image of We Were Eight Years in Power: An American Tragedy on Twitter Monday.

His forthcoming book is scheduled for an October 3rd release, according to Entertainment Weekly. The collection of original and previously published essays about America during the Obama Years will be released by One World, a Random House publisher.

Coates rose to prominence after his last title Between the World and Me, which won 2015 National Book Award for Nonfiction and earned the author a MacArthur fellowship.

The follow-up book grew out of his articles published in The Atlantic such Fear of a Black President from 2012 and 2017’s  My President was Black, which came from numerous interviews Coates had with Obama.

Coates tweeted the cover for We Were Eight Years in Power: An American Tragedy alongside a Kendrick Lamar lyric: “I got so many theories and suspicions …” The images showed a slightly ripped cover, which features navy blue lettering, on a red background.
