As Apple employees start moving into their new workspace this month, an amateur filmmaker recorded overhead images of the spaceship-like complex, designed by Foster+Partners, with his drone. The aerial video gives an intimate look at Apple Park, the tech giant’s 175-acre campus in Cupertino, California.

In particular, the drone footage offers a fresh look at the 2.8 million-square-foot building. The ring, which surrounds ample green space, will serve as the heart of Apple Park.

The video shows workers putting the finishing touches on the exterior, such the installation of rooftop solar panels, and the interior as well.

If the complex looks sparse, don’t be surprised. Construction will continue through the summer, as the finishing touches are added to the Steve Jobs theater (rendering below), a thousand-seat auditorium named after its iconic founder, as well as other buildings that dot the sprawling campus.

Apple plans to relocate 12,000 employees into the new campus, so that won’t happen overnight. The company said in a press release it expects the move-in to take six months to complete.
