Fans of J.D. Salinger’s work will be happy to know that, thanks to the Cornish Center for Cartoon Studies, they have a chance to live in his house next year.

More specifically, the Center is offering a month-long residency on the famously-reclusive writer’s 12-acre property in New Hampshire. Residents will live in a studio apartment above the garage for the entire month of February 2017, and will receive a $600 stipend. In exchange, residents are required to have a dependable car and the ability to perform “light household maintenance,” which is code for snow shoveling. They also have to give a lecture at the Center for Cartoon Studies.

Oddly, the residency is only open to cartoonists, not writers. A board member for the Center for Cartoon Studies, Cartoonist Harry Bliss, bought this home earlier this summer. Bliss worked with the CCS to establish this artist residency. Applications are due by November 1st. Click here to apply. Take a look at Salinger’s former home below.
