Nissan has debuted a working prototype of a three-seat BladeGlider EV. With a top speed of 115 mph, it can accelerate to 62 mph in just five seconds. Nissan describes it as the “electric vehicle for car lovers.”
The BladeGlider has a driver seat up front, with seating for two in the back. This allows for greater aerodynamic efficiency and handling stability thanks to the narrow front and wider rear. Torque vectoring also improves handling: If the car starts to understeer, more torque is automatically sent to the outside wheel to restore the handling balance.
The BladeGlider also has a five-module lithium-ion 220kW battery for power and an open roof reinforced with an integrated rollover protection structure. And Nissan boasts that the car can “glide” thanks to the quiet performance of its electric power train.
