Sotheby’s Auctioning Off Original Copies of ‘Emancipation Proclamation’ and ’13th Amendment’

Part of 'Important Letters and Documents' sale set for May 25 in New York

Sotheby’s is offering two significant documents in its “Two Centuries of American History: Highly Important Letters and Documents” auction on May 25 in New York. For sale are original copies of the Emancipation Proclamation and the 13th Amendment. The former’s pre-auction estimate is $1.5 million to $2 million, with the latter at $2 million to $3 million.
